Legendary South Boston Babe Ruth Coach Harold “Emo” Barron passed away suddenly at the age of 88. He was a retired teacher from the Gavin Jr. High School and this was his 63rd season in the league. He coached more than 1,000 players from the neighborhood for over six decades. He died on May 7th.
There will be a ceremony honoring Emo on Saturday, June 15th at the Babe Ruth League Field at Moakley Park starting at 1:00 p.m. All are invited to attend.
