Boston breaks the $2k threshold

Boston Business Journal is reporting that the average apartment rents in Boston have crossed the $2,000 threshold for the first time ever!  According to a new analysis done by Reis Inc, rents are on the rise even though the city’s apartment vacancy rate is higher than the national average thanks to lots of new inventory via new development.

$2,000 a month would be a steal for Southie these days!  According to Rentjungle.com the average rent for Southie is $2285 a month on average and for a two bedroom apartment rents average $2745.

Yikes!
