Pushup Drama at Clock Tavern: Licensing Board Weighs In After Late-Night Brew-ha-ha.

Never a dull moment in the neighborhood.
According to our friends over at Universal Hub, the Boston Licensing Board is sorting through a saga involving late-night pushups, barstools, and a dramatic exit at Clock Tavern on West Broadway.
Here’s the breakdown: In the early hours of September 3rd, two patrons reportedly decided the middle of the bar was the perfect place to drop down and do some pushups. (As jabronis do.) Staff asked them to knock it off, the bartender stopped serving them, and, despite one guy declaring he could “do whatever the **** he wants,” the bar staff let them stay until closing.
But when closing time rolled around, things took a turn. The two claims the bouncers rudely yanked their barstools and even hit one of them in the eye while “escorting” them out. These allegations were serious enough to earn the Clock a citation to appear before the licensing board on an “assault and battery employee on patron” charge.
Clock Tavern management, however, says that’s not how it went down at all. According to their side of the story, the staff stayed patient, but when the bar closed and the men refused to leave, one even bracing himself in the doorway and blocking other patrons from leaving, the bouncers had to physically remove him out with the help of a good Samaritan waiting outside. No punches thrown, no roughhousing beyond what it took to clear the door.
The Licensing Board will decide on Thursday whether Clock Tavern should’ve handled the situation differently.
Stay tuned.

I wonder what would’ve happened if that was triple O’s 😂
We need Allen Iverson on that board to address this pettiness…
“Rudeness? We talkin’ ’bout rudeness, man? I mean, listen… this is Southie… South Boston… and we talkin’ ’bout rudeness? We not talkin’ ’bout a fight… we not talkin’ ’bout a beating… we out here talkin’ ’bout rudeness. How silly is that? Rudeness? Come on, man.”
