Boston police want people to be aware of their surrounding when walking home late at night.  On Sunday, August 10th at approximately 2:25 am, a woman was groped from behind in the area of West 2nd Street between D and E St.  The suspect then fled on on mountain bike.

According to the BPD:
The victim described the suspect as a male of unknown ethnicity but had a medium brown complexion, approximately 5’8″-5’10” tall, muscular build with facial hair described as scruffy. The suspect was wearing a black or dark blue sleeveless hooded sweatshirt which he wore with the hood up. After being startled by a witness, the suspect fled the area on a black mountain bike.

So take notice and be safe, Southie!  Use the buddy system!

Nobody deserves to be groped or assaulted. Boston police should remind folks to be aware of their surroundings and that nothing good happens after 2 am…

Seems to me that last summer a woman was attacked in the same area and the description of the perp was similar.    It also happened in the early morning hours.    We can NEVER FORGET what happened to Amy Lord, and that these criminals are just waiting for a chance to hurt someone.
