It’s just an island….

We here at Caught in Southie try and stay on the pulse of what the neighborhood issues are and evidently this is the newest “issue.”

We are lifelong residents and we’ve never heard of this situation arising before but because it has we are offering this Public Service Announcement:

Farragut Statue is not a rotary like Kosciuszko Circle. It is just a little island honoring Admiral Farragut! You DO NOT need to go around the island when coming back from Castle Island/Sully’s heading on Day Blvd. As a matter of fact, you would be violating traffic laws if did because you could be crossing double lines on East Broadway.  If you are coming down Broadway heading to Castle Island, you need to yield to those coming straight on Day Blvd. This “situation” reminds us of the one-way situation of 2015 when many new residents thought ALL one ways were turning into two-way streets.

Be careful out there!

Why can’t they put a stop or yield sign? Same thing almost happened today. In a state full of rotaries, this is just asinine and asking for someone to get killed.
