Possible Sexual Assault in Southie

UPDATE on possible sexual assault at Carson Beach: According to NBC10 Boston, preliminary investigation suggests that a group of people — most likely members of the homeless community — were gathered near the bathhouse at Carson Beach in the early morning. The victim stated that at approximately 4:30 a.m. she was raped by one of the men who were present. A passerby observed the woman in distress shortly before 6am and called State Police. The investigation is ongoing.

Earlier report: State Police are investigating a possible sexual assault that happened near the Carson Beach bath house early Tuesday morning. Police responded to the area shortly after 6 a.m. The suspect is believed to had already left the area. The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center.

Police are investigating.  More to follow.
