After the news of the “mix up” of the James M. Kelly name removed from the Broadway Bridge last month, one resident decided to take matters into their own hands via an old Re-Elect Jimmy Kelly bumper sticker.
This photo was taken this week featuring the bumper sticker on the Mayor Wu sign. No word about who put the sticker there or where they found that old 1980s campaign sticker – was someone saving it for the occasion? Do they have a time machine?
Way back in 2007, the Broadway Bridge was named after Southie native and City Council President Jimmy Kelly. On Thursday, it was “discovered” that the Kelly name was removed from the bridge and replaced by “Welcome to the West Broadway Bridge” with Mayor Michelle Wu’s name.

And our city politicians still aren’t doing anything about this. Shameful. Come on Mr. Flynn and Mr. Flaherty, even though you’re not running again, do one last great thing.
I love it!
The above comment says it all.
Shame on Mayor Woo from a lifelong resident.
