Kerrick Pierce, 23, from Pembroke pleaded not guilty in South Boston Municipal Court to charges including assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon during the May 28 attack on the Red Line.  The victim was left with severe injuries that required surgery.

Prosecutors say the victim and a female companion were riding on a Red Line train when they asked a group – which included Pierce  – to refrain from using homophobic slurs.  Pierce punched the victim in the head and face and others in the group kicked him when he was down. Gheesh!

Pierce was arrested on Friday and arraigned on Monday.  Pierce will be back in court on July 31st.

Arrest Warrant has been issued for John Karol, 23, of Pembroke for Aggravated Assault & Battery with serious bodily injuries and Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.  Detectives are currently seeking the whereabouts of Karol.   You can check out Karol’s picture here!
