Officers Recover Two Loaded Firearms and Arrest Two Suspects in South Boston

From BPD News:

At about 6:24 PM, on Thursday, August 12, 2021, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force along with Massachusetts State Police made a traffic stop in the area of 233 D Street in South Boston resulting in two (2) firearm arrests. Officers were on patrol on Joyce Hayes Way in South Boston, when they observed a motor vehicle with excessive tinted windows turn onto Flaherty Way while failing to use their turn signal.

Officers activated their lights and sirens to conduct a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, later identified as Jamarie Davis, 19, of Dorchester. Officers also made contact with the passenger, later identified as Malachi White, 19, of Quincy. Officers observed White to be seated in an awkward position as if he was concealing an object. Officers asked White to exit the motor vehicle, in which he refused. After several attempts, White was safely removed from the motor vehicle and officers recovered a loaded firearm from his waist area. The firearm was determined to be a Smith and Wesson MP40 with one (1) round in the chamber and twelve (12) rounds in the high-capacity magazine.

Officers also located a loaded Glock 23, .40 Caliber with one (1) round in the chamber and twelve (12) rounds in a high-capacity magazine from the vehicle. A CJIS query of the Glock revealed it had been stolen out of North Carolina in 2012.

Jamarie Davis and Malachi White were placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device. Both are expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court.
