No revote for OUTVETS

Good grief!  South Boston Online is reporting that the parade coordinators – Allied War Veterans Council will not be voting again on their recent decision to deny OUTVETS entry into the Evacuation Day/St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

On Tuesday, the AWVC voted 9-4.  Four members of the AWVC advocated for the group to march.  Eddie Flynn – candidate for Boston City Council District 2 – voted in support of OUtVETS and was working to organize another vote on Friday.  Looks like that’s not happening.

After the decision was announced on Wednesday – the wheels began to fall of the parade organization cart.

Dan Magoon from Mass Fallen Heroes voted in support of OUTVETS and then resigned from his honorary position.   Sponsors of the parade like Dedham Savings, Budweiser, Stop and Shop, Mass Bay Credit Union, Joyce Lebedew Real Estate, and City of Boston Credit Union have threatened to pull their sponsorship until the parade is inclusive.   All local politicians said they would not march until OUTVETS could participate.  That list includes: Governor Charlie Baker, Mayor Marty Walsh,  Congressman Stephen Lynch, City Councilor Michael Flaherty Senator Linda Dorcena Forry, and State Rep. Nick Collins.

The Teamsters Local 25 also stated they would not march.

So there you have it.  More to follow!

The point is Simple, Evacuation day is the celebration of our English oppressors leaving Boston.
Coincidently, it’s falls on St Patrick’s day. The SB Veterans have the right to exclude sexually oriented groups from a family parade. Let’s have a separate Southie Gay Pride Parade and see how many people turn out ? If people didn’t have to wear their sexuality on their sleeve it would be a much better country. Sponsors pulling out is a act of cowardice based on gay intimidation. Southie is inclusive 365 days a year, we don’t have to prove it to anyone on one day when we to host a parade. America should be a melting pot, not a bastion of diversity. Diversity weekens a nation built on the notion of melding legal immigrants into one nation under God. Political, correctness is the enemy not the solution.
