We haven’t had a movie theater in Southie since the 

Bug House so when we heard the neighborhood will be getting one soon, we were excited to say the least.  According to an article in the Boston Herald,  WS Development signed a 20-year lease for a movie theater at One Seaport Square.

Kerasotes ShowPlace Theatres will occupy roughly 40,000 square feet on the third-floor of a 22-story apartment and retail towers.   And it’s not just any movie theater – it’s one of those luxury kinds with leather recliners with reserved seating and a lobby lounge with a restaurant/bar. 

No word yet when the project will begin or be completed.  Stay tuned.
