National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
From BPD News:
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day: The Boston Police Department is partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration on National Prescription Drug Take Back Day to make our city safer by providing community members a safe, easy option to rid their homes of unwanted or unused prescription drugs.
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue.
In fact, according to a recent National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 9.9 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day gives Americans an opportunity to save lives by preventing drug addiction and overdose deaths.
So, we’re asking you to join the BPD and DEA for National Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 30th from 10:00am to 2:00pm at a district police station nearest you.
