Beware of flooding

Boston is expected to get just a few inches – between 1-3 – on Wednesday afternoon.

The weather service also issued a flood watch for Cape Cod, the South Shore, the Boston area and almost all of Norfolk County.

“A period of heavy rain combined with snowmelt Wednesday night into Thursday morning may cause street and poor drainage flooding along with rises on area rivers, creeks and streams. Localized flooding also will be favored where heavy rain falls on clogged storm drains,” the weather service said.

Did you see the videos from Monday of the flooding near Long Wharf? Nuts. You can see it here.

Due to the rain and very high tides – expect delays and closures on Morrissey Blvd on Wednesday afternoon.  High tide is at 1:30pm.

Without a drop of rain, Morrissey Blvd. and the Tenean Beach area can be flooded due to tides. Yikes.

Check out this time lapse video footage from Boston Harbor Now of the king tide flooding near Tenean Beach.

Consider yourself warned.

Not that we need them today, but here are our Unofficial Rules for Saving a Spot after a Snowstorm.
