Boston, MA Aug 16, 2017 – Today Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts announced their endorsement of Mike Kelley in the race for Boston’s District 2 City Council seat.  In the past month, Candidate Kelley has also received the endorsements of Attorney General Maura Healey and State Senator Linda Dorcena-Forry.

“Mike’s record supporting smart sexual and reproductive health policies, and working in the LGBTQ community is unquestionable.  For decades, he has supported reproductive rights, worked to combat the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, and advocated tirelessly for the LGBTQ community.  His steadfast advocacy has helped create a more inclusive healthier city, and is why PPAF believes he is the best candidate to become District 2’s next City Councilor,” said Michael Falcone, PPAF’s public affairs director.

He continued: “Given the attacks on women’s rights and health care access coming from top leaders in the federal government, it is crucial we have local leaders who will protect the health, wellbeing and basic rights of everyone.  We’re supporting Mike because we know he will always be a strong voice for the people of Boston on the City Council.”

“I’m honored to have the endorsement of the Advocacy Fund.  Not only do Planned Parenthood health centers provide essential services to our neighborhood which help to improve the health of the entire community, but its political arm is also a vocal advocate for equality and civil rights.  All issues which I will fight for every day as City Councilor,” Candidate Kelley said in response to Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts’ endorsement.

And in reference to his growing list of campaign supporters, he added: “I’ve tried my best to be a voice for those that need to be heard, and should I be fortunate enough to win this election, I will strive to put the people of District 2 and Boston first.”
