Meridian Archer Vehicle Barriers Installed in the Neighborhood as Part of Parade Day Safety Prep

Wondering what the heck these things are?
The City of Boston and BPD have installed several Meridian Archer vehicle barriers in the neighborhood along and around the parade route. This “drop and stop” technology helps stops unauthorized vehicles and protects people in pedestrian areas, events, construction zones, and critical sites.
You can read more about these barriers here.
Boston Police has also issued an advisory about “celebrating responsibly” which you can read here.

So should we just ignore that big ass tree? Never realized how soft Boston became. Sad.
So in terms of prevention, your answer is to let a car destroy multiple houses and take out a 30-50 year old tree in our neighborhood versus dropping in temporary protection – much less the damage and mess St. Pats leaves behind each year by those who don’t care about those of us who live here.
