Manhole fires on K Street cause power outages and elevated carbon monoxide readings

On Sunday afternoon, BFD responded to a call for a car fire on K Street. After investigating, it was revealed that there were wires burning and emitting smoke from three manholes at 343 K Street and two additional manholes at K and 7th.
There were elevated carbon monoxide readings detected in the area. Some residents were treated by EMS for dizziness. Many K Street residents were without power for several hours.
Eversouce was on site trying to fix the situation.
