According to the Boston Herald, the Department of Justice report concludes U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts Rachael Rollins improperly used her position by influencing the Suffolk DA’s race by leaking non-public information and for breaking agency rules by attending a Democratic fundraiser last summer.
Evidently, Rollins attempted to influence the outcome of last year’s Suffolk DA race by leaking information. The Boston Globe ran pre-primary stories leaked by Rollins, which were damaging to then-candidate Kevin R. Hayden, who was running against City Councilor Ricardo Arroyo.
The report also adds: “We also concluded that Rollins falsely testified under oath during her OIG interview when she denied that she was the federal law enforcement source that provided nonpublic, sensitive DOJ information to the Herald reporter about a possible Hayden criminal investigation.”
According to the report, Rollins attempted to get her First Assistant U.S. Attorney to write a letter suggesting Hayden was under criminal investigation. But He refused.

The Associated Press is reporting that Massachusetts US Attorney Rachael Rollins will resign after an ethics investigation by the Justice Department regarding her appearance at a political fundraiser in addition to other potential issues.
The Justice Department’s watchdog has not released its report detailing the findings of the investigation. An attorney for Rollins told The Associated Press that she will be submitting a letter of resignation to President Biden by end of week.
Rollins resigned as Suffolk County DA after she was appointed US Attorney for Massachusetts roughly 16 months ago.

It’s about time! She clearly abused the power and it went to her head. I was sick & tired of her referring to white folks as White Surpremacist.
Her siblings have been convicted of 9 out of 15 of the (“former”?) crimes that this unhinged savage “declined to prosecute”.
Which isn’t to say that they didn’t “commit “ the other 6. Maybe they just didn’t get “caught”.
To say that this…”thing”…should never have been put in office to begin with is like saying water’s wet. And got the Globe to “pump her tires” this whole time? Knowing what they knew? That SHE was the “leak”? That’s actually terrifying…in a communist Russia/China way. Brrrrr….
And speaking of which: if someone can get the Globe to stop deleting ANY and ALL comments that are even remotely critical of your mayor then maybe…just maybe…we can get back to some recognizable version of this once-fine city. Wu played piano at Symphony Hall while Boston burned (4 shootings/1 dead). Don’t go by me, look it up.
Just don’t expect to find anything useful from John “The Possum” Henry and his trophy wife (who he gave the Globe to as a “present”/something to keep her busy). The both of them should be indicted.
