MA State police arrested a man accused of shooting and killing another man in Chelsea Sunday night in South Boston, officials announced. See the press release below:
UPDATE—Through the continued investigation of the October 8, 2023 homicide l of Santos Canizales, State Police, and Chelsea Police investigations identified EDGAR NERYS, 28, as the shooter. An arrest warrant was sought and obtained today out of Chelsea District Court, charging NERYS with murder.
NERYS was taken into custody by the State Police Detective Unit for Suffolk County, Chelsea Police Detectives, the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, and Boston Police in South Boston. Investigators were waiting for NERYS when he showed up for a monthly meeting with his probation officer.
NERYS will be arraigned Thursday in Chelsea District Court on murder and firearm charges.
