Small businesses are struggling right now. With announcements of more restaurants shutting their doors for the winter months and the federal government failing to get their act together, Barstool Sports has stepped up to the plate.
Raising nearly $6.5 million dollars to help fund 18 restaurants and counting, the Barstool Fund was created recently by Barstool Sports founder, Dave Portnoy to help small businesses impacted by COVID-19. Portnoy contributed $500,000 of his own money to the fund and is encouraging others to do the same.
On Friday, STATS of Southie owners joined in and helped by contributing $5000 to the fund.
Via video on twitter, owners also announced that 100% from STATS gift card sold over the weekend will also be donated to the Barstool fund. Just a way for customers to become a part of giving back.
You can order a gift card to STATS here. If you would like to contribute directly to the Barstool Fund, you can do so here.
