under I-93
Looks like the sketchy area under I-93 between Southie and the South End is getting a new light installation. As part of the larger plan to give the area a much needed makeover, a new light installation will be turned on beginning Friday.
According to Boston.com, the Underpass Makeover is being led by the Department of Transportation and will involve two phases to clean up the area under the expressway. The DOT is working with neighborhood groups from South Boston and the South End. There will be over 400 parking spots built, improved pedestrian walkways, and improved lighting.
