JOKR – Gone too soon
Last December we reported about JOKR, the global leader in instant delivery of groceries, launching service in South Boston. You probably saw the brightly colored windows of their warehouse at the corner of D and Broadway or the blue and green delivery bags on the shoulders of delivery bike riders!
Well, on Wednesday, they posted on social media, they would be closing up shop in Boston, in addition to NYC.
See message below:
Dear JOKR customers,
It is with a heavy heart that we announce that our last day of deliveries in NYC and Boston will be this Sunday, June 19th. We’ve closed our shops today to give our team the day off and will reopen tomorrow for deliveries the rest of the week.
While we were able to build an amazing customer base (thank you!!) and lay the groundwork for a sustainable business in the US, the company has made the tough decision to exit the market during this period of global economic uncertainty.
It cannot go unsaid that our time in NYC and Boston would not be possible without our amazing JOKR team and customers! Thank you all for being part of the JOKR family. Starting with our inaugural Happy Day last June, to caroling in December, and even more recently launching our own recipes, you have empowered us to build and serve incredible communities.
