Joint Drug Control Unit Operation Leads to the Arrest of Drug Trafficker in South Boston

On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, officers assigned to the Drug Control Units of District C-6 (South Boston) and C-11 (Dorchester) arrested Mariano Santana, 57, of South Boston, on drug trafficking offenses.
At about 8:15 AM, officers were conducting a drug operation with the execution of search warrants in the area of 1350 Columbia Road, South Boston. Surveillance was set up and the target of the investigation was seen exiting the building, and entering a vehicle.
A marked cruiser was requested to assist with conducting a motor vehicle stop in the area of 9 Boston Street. Officers approached the vehicle and identified themselves as Boston Police Officers. The suspect was advised that officers had search warrants for his vehicle, his body, and an apartment.
As a result of the search warrants, forty-two grams of cocaine, six grams of fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and $225 in U.S. currency.
Santana was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court for the following offenses:
Trafficking of Class B
Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A
Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A, Subsequent Offense
