Fingers crossed

Spikeball is the beach game, wildly popular with the bros, where two teams of two players each take turns smacking a softball-sized rubber ball off a small, round trampoline.  Recently on Twitter, Boston Bruins Right Wing and Dorchester native Jimmy Hayes challenged  David Portnoy* – of Barstool Sports – also wildly popular with the bros – to a game of Spikeball at M Street Beach in Southie.  

So who will the other team members be?  For Jimmy Hayes, it will be his brother Kevin, Right Wing for the New York Rangers and for Portnoy, Jimmy Hayes is hoping James van Riemsdyk, #21 for the Toronto Maple Leafs will answer the challenge.   

Let’s hope this happens in the very near future, Southie!   If Portnoy says no, he’s a pussy. 

*Portnoy often boasts that he is awesome at Spikeball as well as being responsible for the beach game’s poplularity – which we don’t doubt.
