On Sunday, a South Boston Dorchester Street resident heard a knock on the door and was greeted by a gentleman wearing a checked button down shirt claiming to work for the “Water Company.”  The homeowner was suspicious and asked to see a company i.d.  The gentleman could not produce one and ended up fleeing on foot.  The resident immediately called police.

So take notice, Southie – don’t let anyone in your home claiming to work for a company if they can’t produce the proper credentials.  Another red flag?  Someone from the Water and Sewer working on a Sunday – they normally work Monday through Friday unless it’s an emergency situation.
