Help out South Boston resident who recently lost her grandmother in tragic explosion; mother is in hospital with injuries
On Friday, it was reported that there was a massive explosion at home in Berlin, MA killing a 79-year-old woman and injuring her adult daughter.
Judy Christensen was pronounced dead at the scene. Fortunately, neighbors were able to rescue her daughter, Jill, who was trapped under a section of the roof. Jill is now in the hospital, recovering from her injuries.
Southie resident Courtney Christensen is the granddaughter of Judy and the daughter of Jill. We ask that you keep her in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. A Go Fund Me has been created to help the family with medical bills and funeral expenses. Please consider making a donation and doing what the people of South Boston are known for doing – helping!

Wow!! Without knowing either the 79 year old woman who was killed in the Berlin, MA house explosion, or her granddaughter who is now hospitalized with injuries resulting from that house fire personally, my condolences go out to their family, friends, and neighbors, as well as to the injured granddaughter. This is a terrible thing that happened. Here’s hoping that the granddaughter of the 79 year old woman who died in that house fire has a full, speedy recovery.
