Update from Ryan Barrett, organizer of the fundraising effort

We are absolutely blown away by the generosity from our community and our friends and family near and far. The prayers are working- Nicole showed some encouraging improvements over the course of the day and we are confident that she will get stronger with time.

Thank you all, and please keep the thoughts and prayers coming

Love,
The DiMaggio and The Downs families

As of Tuesday morning, over $67,000 has been raised!

GoFundMe Post below:

Nicole suffered a stroke last weekend and she will require a long hospital stay and then outpatient support while she recovers. Nicole is the wife of Paul, and the mother to Mia (10) and PJ (7). The doctors are optimistic that with time and lots of hard work, Nicole can make a full recovery and get back to being an amazing mom, wife, daughter, sister, auntie, friend, and devoted teacher. But, recoveries like this take time, and that timeline is unknown at this point. While Nicole recovers, her husband, Paul, is taking time off from work to be present for the kids and their busy schedules, while also being present at the hospital and future appointments with Nicole.  This GoFundMe is being organized by Nicole’s friends, and all funds raised will be used to help relieve the monetary stress of Nicole and Paul not having unlimited paid time off, as they are unsure how long the road ahead is.

Any support is appreciated beyond measure. The amount of support Nicole’s family has received over the last few days is a reminder of how loved Nicole, Paul, Mia, and PJ are in their community, and what a wonderful community we live in.
