Last week members of the BPD Youth Violence Strike Force recovered two firearms in the area of the D Street Housing development South Boston. Officers on directed patrol to address recent shootings and firearm related incidents in the area observed a group of known gang members congregating near an open door on D’allessio Court. As officers struck up a conversation with the group, another officer canvassed the area for weapons and soon observed a loaded black Glock 36 .45 caliber firearm secreted in a hole under a stairway. When the officer removed the firearm, a second loaded firearm a silver and black Smith & Wesson 3913 9mm was located behind the first. Officers recovered and processed both guns. All members of the group were identified by the officers.
It’s pretty sad I live in southie my entire life and it’s gotten so bad my 4 yr old knows the sound of shots being fired!! It’s completely disgusting. Even more disgusting is the mayor covering it up to sell his million dollar condos. 3 people were shot 4 days ago and NOTHING on the news. People are fed up!!
It’s pretty simple, just demolish the D street FHA housing complex and rebuild luxury condos. Replace the troubled with the prosperous.
If it wasn’t for 3 public housing projects in southie everybody’s property values would be 20 % HIGHER…get rid of these DEADBEATS who live in this public housing and cause havac in the neighborhood!
I also find it hilarious that the term “Public” is often used to define these complex’s…I’m very sure the majority of the public would have their application promptly declined. I’m not saying that any average person would want to live there, but when part of my federal income tax goes to subsidizing these criminal’s housing…it does beg questioning.
