Did you catch a glimpse of adults wearing full mascot-style animal costumes walking down Summer Street or in the Seaport District? Well, Anthro New England – a furry convention – is in town this weekend at the Westin Seaport.
So what is a furry?
According to Wikipedia, the furry fandom is a subculture interested in anthropomorphic animal characters. Examples of anthropomorphic attributes include exhibiting human intelligence and facial expressions, speaking, walking on two legs, and wearing clothes. The term “furry fandom” is also used to refer to the community of people who gather on the internet and at furry conventions.
The convention takes place through Sunday, January 22nd. Events included dances, live music, Furry Wheel of Fortune, and other games plus charity auctions. Sounds like quite the time!
