For the women of South Boston

In light of the recent attacks to women in South Boston, Ultimate Self Defense is offering free classes for women in the neighborhood.  After Tuesday’s murder of Amy Lord and the stabbing of a Gates Street woman also on Tuesday, Andrea Muccini, owner of Ultimate Self Defense, felt moved to help.  “It’s awful and frightening and we want to do this for our community,” say Muccini.

Self defense classes will be offered on Mondays and Wednesday from 7pm-8pm at the dojo (12 B Street) for the month of August.  For more information visit www.ultimateselfdefense.com or call 617-268-9893.

Andrea Muccini is our featured Character of the Month for July.  To read more about her visit: https://caughtinsouthie.com/people/characterofmonth/andrea-muccini

I am so thankful that Andrea Muccini will offer these classes.  We, as a community, need to be stronger and take control of our lives as well as take control of the safety within our neighborhood. No person should experience what Ms. Lord and the others have gone through.  If we can learn to protect ourselves as well as ways to help protect others, hopefully these horrific situations will be much less common.  Thank you for being there for us and for taking a stand against such violence, Andrea Muccini.
