Firearm Recovered After a Traffic Stop in South Boston

From BPD News:
At about 5:43 PM, on Sunday, May 7, 2023, officers assigned to the District C-6 Anti-Crime Unit (South Boston) made on-site firearm arrests of Charkeem Hyatt, 33, of Dorchester and Leandra Hall, 33, of Roxbury.
Officers were on patrol in the area of 875 Columbia Road and observed a motor vehicle make an illegal right turn. Officers immediately activated their emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop. Officers made contact with both occupants, and they were immediately met with confrontation.
Officers requested the occupants to exit the vehicle, and conducted a pat frisk. Officers located a firearm from inside the motor vehicle. The firearm was determined to be a Luger LCP with one round in the chamber, and five rounds in the magazine.
Hyatt was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court.
Hall was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. She is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court.
