The City of Boston has renamed Dudley Square in Roxbury to Nubian Square – after the ancient African civilization of Nubia.
The Public Improvements Commission approved the change on Thursday morning. Even though the majority of voters voted against the name change on November 5th – the majority of Roxbury residents voted for the name change – more than two-thirds according to Mayor Marty Walsh’s office.
