Senator Nick Collins release the following statement re: safety meeting
We have historically held a summer safety meeting focused on the public health and safety plan for the summer season, ahead of Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start of summer.
This past weekend’s events will be addresses as the DCR will be joined by their partner health and safety organizations to outline their plans for the summer including public safety, water safety and capital improvements throughout the Old Harbor Reservation- Castle Island, Pleasure Bay, M St and Carson Beaches, Farragut and Marine Park, all the way to Preble Circle.
Thank you to the Massachusetts State Police, Boston Police, Environmental Police, MBTA Transit Police and UMass Police for your responsiveness this past weekend. It is never okay to attack our first responders who are out day and night working to keep our community safe and our public spaces family friendly. Ensuring safety this summer will take a wholistic approach and that is what we will be discussing Thursday evening.
