Beginning on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, and continuing through the rest of the year the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) will close the Castle Island Playground in the City of Boston to accommodate a $2 million investment to improve and upgrade the playground. The playground area will be closed for the duration of work.
The nearby Michael Joyce Playground, 49 Farragut Road in South Boston, will be open as an alternative.
