Cruise to nowhere in Boston Harbor
Well…they didn’t get very far.
On Saturday, July 4th – a Holland America cruise ship, The Madaam, departed for a 7-day Canada and New England Discovery only to come to a complete standstill miles from the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal. Bummer.
The tweets began wondering why the cruise ship was in the middle of the Boston Harbor not moving.
Sgt. Joe Cheevers, Boston Harbormaster stated that the ship lost propulsion for a while. “They regained their port engines and are working on the starboard engines,” said Cheevers. As of Sunday morning, the cruise ship was still anchored and passengers are still aboard. Authorities are hoping that the ship will be repaired today. You can see it from Castle Island.
Let’s hope that the toilets are working and the bar is open.
