Councilor Flynn to Host FY26 Budget Meeting with South Boston Neighbors on Tuesday, May 6th, 4pm-5:30pm

BOSTON – Boston City Councilor Ed Flynn will be hosting a virtual meeting with the South Boston neighborhood civic group leaders to discuss priorities for the upcoming FY26 city budget. This meeting is intended to be an opportunity for Councilor Flynn to hear from residents about their feedback on budget priorities and neighborhood needs. The meeting will be at the South Boston Branch Library next Tuesday, May 6th from 4:00pm-5:30pm.
The City budget cycle starts in mid-April each year, and will need to be voted on by the City Council before July 1st. The budget determines the funding for each city department, as well as for various capital projects and investments. It is therefore important to understand neighborhood priorities in order to effectively advocate for the appropriate city funding for resources that would ensure the public safety, public health, and overall quality of life for our residents.
“Advocating for my neighbors and district in the city budget process is one of the most critical parts of my job as a City Councilor. It is critical that I get feedback from our residents about funding priorities that should be included in the budget,” said Councilor Flynn. “The city budget impacts every facet of city services, and I look forward to engaging with my South Boston neighbors on this issue.”
