What the….
Authorities are investigating how an electric sign was programmed to display a message about the KKK.
The sign was discovered on Labor Day around 7:40am near D and Cypher behind the Convention Center. BPD noticed an electronic construction sign displaying the message “KKK Meeting Today.” Yikes.
The sign was disabled the sign and BPD Civil Rights Unit was notified, in addition to the State Police and MassPort.
According to the Boston Herald, the electric sign board belongs to a private construction company, whose name was blacked out on the police report. The construction firm was listed as a victim of the vandalism incident. The investigation will look into whether the sign was hacked or if a construction work created the sign.
