Friday, August 31st is Colin McGrath’s birthday. He would have turned 3 years old. On the street, where the McGrath family lives, a sea of blue balloons lined the block, placed there by neighbors early in the morning before the sun came out.
Also, pails, shovels and toys were left at South Boston beaches with a simple note attached:
I am not lost. Please take me and play with me. In memory of Colin McGrath.
Colin was tragically killed at the intersection of L and Sixth back in July.
A nice way to remember Colin today, as suggested by his family is to “simply live one day with pure joy in your heart like Colin lived each day.”
A special memorial fund has been started in memory of Colin. You can make a donation here or here!
Great South Boston neighbors doing a wonderful act of kindness. Thanks to all involved keeping the Southie Spirit going.
Rumor has it that birthday cakes, that are waiting to be picked up, will also be paid in memory of Colin ????
