BPD Seize Several “BORGs” on the Parade Route and 9 people arrested in South Boston.

From BPD News:

Large crowds are enjoying the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in South Boston. Our officers and public safety partners are doing all we can to maintain a family-friendly environment. Alcohol has been seized due to underage and/or public drinking. As the day continues, we thank the vast majority of those celebrating today for doing so in a safe and appropriate way. We continue to ask those attending or out celebrating in our City to refrain from unlawful behavior and to respect the neighborhoods where you are celebrating.

Wondering what the heck a BORG is? It stands for “blackout rage gallons.”  Seen above confiscated by BPD.

According to  Boston.com, nine people were arrested Sunday, and four people were summoned to South Boston District Court. The charges  range from drinking in public, being a minor in possession of alcohol, destruction of property, disorderly conduct, assault and battery, resisting arrest, affray, disturbing the peace, and assault and battery on a police officer.  Yikes.

What do you think? Was this year’s parade better or worst than last year? Did you like the early start?
