BPD officer shot at multiple times on Sunday evening

At about 6:09 PM. Officers assigned to District B-2 responded to a call for a ShotSpotter Activation in the area of 43 Waumbeck Street and subsequently arrested Alberto Polanco, 20, of Roxbury.
Officers advised by Operations of a ShotSpotter Activation in the area of 43 Waumbeck Street. Following the initial call, an on-duty, plain clothes officer advised that they were conducting an investigation in the area when a male, later identified as Polanco, approached their vehicle, and fired multiple rounds at the officer’s vehicle, striking the vehicle twice, then fled the scene. The plainclothes officer was able to provide responding units with a description of Polanco and the direction they observed Polanco running. Officers were able to take Polanco into custody at a nearby, undisclosed location.
Polanco is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court and is to be charged with Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon to wit Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Discharge of a Firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.
