BPD make an arrest for a man with a gun in the Playwright early Sunday morning

At about 12:30 AM on Sunday, January 30, 2022, Officers assigned to District C6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for a Person with a Gun at 658 E Broadway, resulting in the arrest of Michael Wilson, 24, of Hamilton for firearm-related offenses.
Officers were advised by staff at the above location that there was a male, later identified as Wilson, seated at the bar with a firearm visible. Upon arrival, Wilson approached Officers with his hands raised, and Officers immediately observed the handle of a firearm protruding from his waist area.
Officers secured the firearm and Wilson without incident.
The firearm was determined to be an unloaded Smith and Wesson M&P Shield. Also located on Wilson was a magazine containing nine (9) rounds of 9MM ammunition.
Wilson is to be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
Michael Wilson is to be arraigned in South Boston District Court.
