BPD Investigation Update: Suspect Arrested Following A Shooting Incident In South Boston
Investigation Update: On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, the U.S. Marshal Task Force arrested Twaldo Baez, 18, of South Boston, in Los Angeles, California. After a lengthy investigation by the Fugitive Unit, officers were able to provide U.S. Marshals with the suspect’s location. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on warrants issued out of South Boston District Court for Two Counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon to wit Firearm.
The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident are as follows: At about 12:05 AM, on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) were advised that two people shot had self-transported to a local hospital. Upon arrival, officers were advised that the victims suffered non-life threatening injuries. After further investigation, the shooting was determined to have occurred on Joyce Hayes Way in South Boston.
