On Wednesday, April 9th, Boston police responded to a call for a person shot on West Fifth Street at 7:56pm.  According to BPD news, “officers from District C-6 (South Boston) responded to a call for a person shot in the area of W. 5th and Dorchester Streets. On arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim, suffering from life threatening injuries, was transported to the Boston Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.”

UPDATE: According to the Boston police, the victim has been identified at Joel Leon, 19, of Milton.
