At about 1:05 AM, on Sunday, March 19, 2023, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston), made an on-site firearm arrest of Marvin Benjamin, 37, of Lynn, and Ramiro Jorge, 38, of Lynn.
Officers were responding to the area of 460 West Broadway to investigate a motor vehicle playing excessively loud music. Officers were provided a description of the vehicle and immediately observed the vehicle make an illegal U-Turn. Officers observed the vehicle to be driving at a high rate of speed.
Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop. Officers were able to make contact with both occupants, and after further investigation, located a firearm inside the vehicle. The firearm was determined to be a Smith and Wesson SD9VE with eleven rounds in the magazine.
Benjamin was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court.
Jorge was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court.
