Boston Influencer Stuck on Quarantined Cruise Ship Amid Deadly Outbreak

Yikes. What a nightmare.
A Boston influencer is sharing a pretty scary experience from the middle of the Atlantic.
According to The Boston Globe, Boston-based travel influencer Jake Rosmarin is currently aboard a cruise ship that has been quarantined amid a suspected hantavirus outbreak.
The ship, the MV Hondius, has been stuck off the coast of Cape Verde as health officials try to get a handle on the situation. So far, three passengers have died, and several others have gotten sick.
Rosmarin shared an emotional video from onboard, reminding people that this isn’t just a headline—it’s real people dealing with a very uncertain situation. “We’re not just a story… we’re people,” he said.
Passengers have been confined to their cabins while medical teams monitor the outbreak and figure out next steps. Hantavirus is rare but serious, typically spread through contact with infected rodent droppings.
