Body found in Fort Point Channel in South Boston on Thursday morning.

BFD responded to a call for a body in the water on Thursday morning in Fort Point Channel. A body was found in the water, and BFD and BPD worked to secure the scene and recover the victim.
According to the Citizen app, BFD confirmed the presence of a body in the water and began coordinating with the individual who reported the incident. Police taped off the sidewalk to manage pedestrian traffic while BFD recovered the body. Eventually, the tape was removed and the scene cleared.
This is still an active investigation. More to follow.

When I lived in the D st. project in the 50’s rumor had it that the Boston City Hospital had a chute out a back window leading to the F.P. Channel to dispose of unclaimed stiffs. Any connection?
