On Monday morning around 11am, BFD responded to a call at 19 Colonel Michael J. McDonough Way for a report of a building fire. Smoke was showing from a second-floor window in addition to a woman sitting on the window sill.
As firefighters from Engine 39 advanced a line to the second floor, members of Ladder 18 threw a ground ladder to the woman and safely rescued her to the ground.
According to BFD on Twitter – two people in total were rescued.
BFD was quickly able to knock down the fire.
