another break-in

Caught in Southie was informed of a breaking and entering on Tuesday night at a home on Columbia Road.  The residents were home.  The suspect climbed in through a window to steal a large flat screen television.  Luckily, crime-watching neighbors saw the suspect fleeing with TV in hand and jumped into action by calling police and chasing after him.

Unfortunately, the suspect got away and no one was hurt.  So this is a reminder, Southie to keep your windows and doors locked – even with this beautiful fresh air were experiencing – and remember to keep your eyes open for any suspicious activities in your neighborhood.  If you see something, say something.  Call the police.

Stay safe, Southie!

This break in was at my mother’s house, I live upstairs.  It happened at 1am, and thank goodness my mother was sleeping.  The man came in the front window in a well light area.  At one am, I heard some odd noises downstairs and when I looked out my window, I saw a Hispanic looking man, dark short hair in his mid 20’s, thin about 5’6 crawling out of the front window of my mother’s house (with her TV). I screamed and yelled for neighbors to call 911, the guy freaked and ran. My neighbor chased him but missed him, but we did get some fingerprints. The scary part was my mom was asleep in the house and had no idea, we had to scream to wake her. Be careful, close windows at night.

I will never lock my windows because you say so, that is insane in itself, who printed that.. Cast more fear around the community by locking your doors and windows.. Like Duvall Patrick had  the cities shutt down the and would  not let us leave our homes.. Come up with something better than this.. Lock your windows in August 2013.. Time To Go

Bunch of cowards. Stealing form people struggling as much as you are is not impressive or gangsta. Grow some and pull off a real heist. Stealing from mom & pop stores and people’s homes…….no excuses for that….you’re lazy scum. Go big or get bent. Everyone is struggling, leave hard workers alone and learn some respect.

It is a shame that it has come to locking your windows in Southie to feel safe “for most people” but calling out people who suggest that you lock your windows as being insane makes me shake my head. The fact remains that there has been a lot of thugs attacking girls and brazenly breaking into homes in broad daylight lately and you want us to be assuring to you and act like its not happening. We have moms, cousins, aunts and uncles that are home alone often that we worry about because we cant be in 5 places at once to help them. I get your theory but I’m not delusional and nobody wants to be the person who’s friend or family member gets attacked because we assured them that it was ok to not lock their home when alone. Good for you if you feel safe enough to do it yourself but something tells me you dont have a lot of family in Southie.
