On Sunday, Andrew Ryan – Southie resident and Boston Globe reporter found a flyer on the windshield of his car urging people to “stop the bathroom bill.”  Ryan posted the flyer on twitter.

What is the bathroom bill?

The “bathroom bill” is actually the  transgender public accommodations bill.  Opponents of this bill have dubbed it the bathroom bill out of fear that it would allow transgender men to use public women’s bathrooms.

The current bill would help place non-discrimination protections for transgender people in public places. Supporters of the bill say that without that law, transgender people could potentially be denied service in a restaurant.

Currently in North Carolina, the state is facing a public backlash for its recent passage of a law banning anti-discrimination protections based on sexual orientation and requiring transgender people in government buildings and public schools to use bathrooms that match the gender on their birth certificates.  Everyone from Bruce Springsteen to paypal and even local politicians have expressed their disproval of this anti-LGBT law.

So looks like a local branch of anti “bathroom bill” people are out doing some campaigning.

My personal favorite scare tactic is the “Seattle Situation.”

“In Seattle, men have been entering women’s locker rooms, disrobing and refusing to leave.  They are not even “identifying” as female.  They have been doing this while young girls were using the facilities.”

We love the vagueness of this.  Also, it sounds like Seattle might have bigger fish to fry than the “bathroom bill” if they have men just disrobing and marching into women’s locker rooms because of this bill.   That’s just my two cents.
