Another reason to love the BFD: Off-Duty Firefighter catches baby from second floor.

The BFD responded to a call for fire at 22 Norton Street in Hyde Park (aka Readville). A second alarm was called around 7:10am for this two-family home, after a fire started in the rear of the building then spread to the first and second floor.
According to reports, an off-duty firefighter and resident of 22 Norton Street, caught a baby that was thrown to safety by the baby’s mom. She too, jumped to safety.
Fire was eventually knocked down and damage has been estimated at $500,000.
