From BPD News:

At about 11:16 AM on Thursday August 4, 2022, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) arrested a 23-year-old from Goshen, NH, after responding to a breaking and entering in progress call in the area of 45 L Street in South Boston. The arresting officers were assisted in their efforts by a BPD officer who also responded to the scene after hearing the call while working a paid detail nearby.

On arrival, officers were advised by two victims that the suspect had entered their apartment and stolen a pair of sunglasses along with various personal papers before fleeing on foot. The officers began to search the area for anyone matching the given description and soon located the suspect in the garage area of the building. The suspect was placed in custody on scene after being positively identified. During the transport of the suspect and subsequent booking process, the suspect displayed behaviors that prompted the officers to request a response from an on duty BEST Team Clinician to perform an evaluation. While the suspect refused all available services, the clinician stated that Boston Mental Health Court would be notified.

Officers then noted in their report that the same suspect had been summonsed to appear in Boston Municipal Court on charges of Breaking and Entering and Malicious Destruction of Property following an incident the day before on District A-1 (Downtown). During that incident, the suspect was also offered services through the BEST Team which were refused. Additionally, the officers had offered to purchase footwear for the suspect after observing they were barefoot during the incident, but the suspect refused their thoughtful gesture.

The suspect will appear for arraignment in South Boston District Court on charges of Breaking and Entering (Daytime).

The guy deserves to be arrested, tried for, and charged with breaking and entering in a court of law, and jailed for a good long time. Why in the world would a guy from Goshen, NH come down to Southie to commit that crime?
